Fiona Fairweather

Fiona was Dean of the School of Law at the University of East London from 1999 until 2011 and Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences from 2011 until 2014.

She was co-author of three editions the Legal Action Group's "A Practitioner's Guide to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act" with Howard Levenson (they were joined for the third edition by Professor Ed Cape) and has written and lectured widely on police powers and suspects' rights.

Fiona was chair of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's Standards Committee for many years and was one of two Independent Persons for Thurrock Council under the Localism legislation until 2019.
