It is always wonderful when a member of our team does something extraordinary, and we have the opportunity to share their achievements.

Rebecca Appiah-Boateng attended the United Nations 70th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) as a UK delegate, both online and in person. Here are her reflections on the experience:

Honoured to have attended both online and in person as a UK delegate for the United Nations 70th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70).

It was inspiring to hear from incredible speakers championing women’s rights, gender equality, and greater representation in leadership and the judiciary. One message stood out: progress for women and girls isn’t inevitable. Protecting and advancing women’s rights requires sustained action, stronger representation, and a collective commitment to creating inclusive, equitable environments where everyone can thrive.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from those driving change and to strengthen my own confidence in advocating for gender equality.

(On a practical note, Dr Jessica Corse is calling for individuals and organisations to speak with their MPs about increasing female representation within the International Court of Justice.)
